Today marks four incredible years of marriage for Isaac and me! Four years of love, laughter, growth, and countless memories that I wouldn’t trade for the world. Looking back, it’s amazing to think about how it all started…

How It All Began

Isaac and I met during the fall semester of 2020, right in the middle of the craziness of COVID. We had both attended church on the first Sunday of the semester—masks and all. Technically, we weren’t supposed to congregate after the service, but a few of us may or may not have stuck around anyway. Isaac and his friends were in one group, and my friend and I joined in.

Isaac says he noticed my pretty eyes right away (aww 😍), and in a sneaky move, he pulled down his mask just enough so I could see his face. On our way home, my friend decided she wanted to invite the cute group of guys over for a little get-together. But first, I had to find Isaac.

Cue my detective skills. 🕵️‍♀️

I hopped on the dating app Mutual and started swiping like a woman on a mission. And guess what? I found him! Even better—he had already swiped “yes” to me, so I was able to message him right away about the Bible study we were hosting. He came, and the next day, he asked me on a date.

From the very first date, I knew he was going to be my husband. Because of COVID, we got to spend a lot of time together in a short period of time, and by November, we were engaged! We may have done a lot of wedding things out of order, but honestly, that just makes for a better story.

Four Years Later…

From college sweethearts to actual adults, we’ve come so far—graduating undergrad, moving across the country to California, and now raising two amazing little humans together. Life with Isaac has been an adventure, and every year just gets sweeter.

One of my absolute favorite anniversary traditions? Isaac surprises me with the same special bouquet every single year. But not just any bouquet—he orders my wedding flowers, the stunning galaxy orchids, and has them delivered right to me. 🌌💐 They hold so much meaning for us, and the flower shop has even come to expect his order each year since we moved to California. Every time I see those vibrant blooms, I’m reminded of the love we celebrated on our wedding day and the life we’ve built since.

What We’ve Learned About Marriage

Marriage has taught us so much—about love, patience, communication (and let’s be real, the importance of snacks when one of us is hangry). We’ve learned to trust each other, support each other, and keep God at the center of it all.

A few things that make a marriage great (in our experience):
💕 Always have each other’s backs.
🙏 Keep faith at the core of your relationship.
👶 Have some really cute kids together (10/10 recommend).
🎉 Make time for date nights (even if they involve chasing toddlers).
🛏️ Always go to bed together—because ending the day side by side matters.

I’m so grateful for these four years, for the love we share, and for all the little moments—like the way Isaac remembers my favorite flowers—that make our marriage special. Here’s to forever! 🥂💖
